Our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation
Venelia has zero tolerance for any content that sexualises, exploits or endangers children. Our community guidelines forbid it, and we act on it as our first priority.
How the app is built to prevent it
- There are no profiles, no private messages and no way to send images. Chat is short text messages, in a room open to everyone in the session. The Community is text posts and comments, open to everyone.
- Every chat message, post and comment is checked on our server against a list of blocked words.
- Each chat room is deleted 15 minutes after its prayer begins.
- Accounts are for people aged 16 and over. Guests can pray and read the Community, but can't chat or post.
How to report
In chat, press and hold a message and choose Report. In the Community, open the "…" menu on a post or comment and choose Report. Choose "Child safety" as the reason. A child-safety report hides the content for everyone immediately, before any person has looked at it. Two reports from different people also hide it automatically. Our moderators review reports daily, child-safety reports first, within 24 hours, and can remove an account's access to chat and posting. You can also block an account, so you no longer see what it writes.
[Held back until the attorney answers: the sentence on complying with child safety laws and on reporting to the relevant authority.]
